 this was a good week

Last week I got to see my friends a lot. Ruth, Amy, John and I went to buffalo wild wings on Tuesday. I don’t like going there because of the noise. It is hard to have a conversation but I do like there food. Ruth, Amy and I went to scooters on Wednesday just to sit and talk and work on projects. Scooters is a coffee shop. Then on Saturday Ruth came over and we did some Acid dyeing. I had a blast and will be doing more of that. It gives you a lot of options for ways of dyeing and playing with color. She took some pictures of what I did and some of the spinning that I have been doing. I need to get with her to find out how to put them on here so people can see it.

Sunday I did laundry and we brought in some corn for the corn burner. I also started on a cross stitch sampler that has frogs on it that says welcome to our pad. It was something that mom & dad got for me for a Christmas or birthday. I have not been able to work on mine because I made one for Ruth ( she also likes frogs) and had to give it to her.

Yesterday I went home sick. I had a migraine that was making me sick to my stomach. So I spent the whole day sleeping. But today I was very rested. Lakota had to go to the vet yesterday. In her stomach area there where some very hard areas and she has been drinking a lot the vet said she has an infection in her mammary gland or she has cancer. Right now she is on antibiotics the poor puppy she just is not doing very well.

 what is going on

What a week I don’t know why it took so long and I really can’t remember what I did but all I know is that I wanted it to be the weekend all week. I finished my first pair of socks they will fit some baby doll somewhere but it is my first pair that I have finished. I really like doing the toe up knitting.

Tuesday I had fiber guild meeting and we learned how to do kumihimo (Japanese braiding) I loved doing it. I have an idea of getting some silk worms and do some reel spinning and make kumihimo then to knit it into a top for me. I still have to work out some of the idea. We will see if it gets off the ground.

Jamie and I went to work out last night and watched Fight Quest. This is where two men spend a week learning how to do native fighting. I think that Jamie would love to do that. As we talked about it I said I would love to go and learn how to spin native fibers. Jamie said that instead of Fight Quest I would be doing Fiber Quest. I would love that.

 Fiber semanar

I just got back from my Fiber Sorting Class. I learned a lot but it was not what I expected at all. It really hyped the sorting of the fiber and what can be done. But didn’t show us how to do it ourselves. It was really geared to the bigger farms and really pushed going into a co-op that dose everything. While I have only 5 animals and can’t get any bigger right now. And I want to do everything myself (the cleaning, the spinning, the knitting). There is a class that can be taken to become a certified sorter and I am going to get more information on what is involved cost wise for that it might be a good part-time job or at least a way to make a little money. I did get a video that shows how shear and collect the fiber so that you get the most out of you fiber. Even if all we get out of it is a better way to shear that will help. Over all I was very hyped up at the beginning of the class but let down by the hands on. I am glad that I went though.

 My day off

Well I took today as a personal day. I got up today at 8 am. Feed the boys. Came in and did the good girlfriend thing and repackaged the pottery into bubble bags. That took until around 2pm. The dog has been having problems with her leg so I had to take her into the vet (the real reason I took today off) to see what we need to do. He could scope the leg but he really thinks that we should take her to Ames to the vet school there. So Jamie and I are thinking about our options right now.

When I got home from the vet I got my car stuck in the driveway. When Jamie got home we got it free and then I got it stuck again closer to the house. And Jamie got his truck stuck. We got his truck free and he has it parked at the end of the driveway so we can go to work tomorrow. We gave up on my car for tonight. As Jamie said we have three options we will see if we can get it free tomorrow, if not we will have to have it towed out or wait for spring (this he said is not an option).

So needless to say I will not be able to get together with friends tomorrow.

What a day

 work work and more work

Well life is going good here. We had another sock making class on Wed. I am still working on my sock. I am now doing the gusset. Ruth is such a good teacher . Thank you Ruth!!

I have been having a hard time with my depression I lowered my dosage in December. Well this week I had to raise it back to what it was. But anything to make me be feel better. I just hate it when I can’t smile and am not happy.

Today I am working on getting the Living room rearranged and cleaned. We are putting up shelves on the walls in the office and in the Living room. this was we can get rid of some of the shelf that are on the floor. The bracket for the shelves in the living room have frogs cut out of them. Jamie cut the bracket out at work This is part of my plan to declutter this house. I am doing ok so far I just hate that I have to keep cleaning or it gets dirty all over again.

I finished my shawl that I was working on it was a little smaller that what I thought it was going to be. I will get pictures of it up shortly.

Well back to cleaning and rearranging
