 the puppy's name

There is a long version and a short version as to the puppy’s name you can choose what one that you want to read.

LONG STORY

Mom would call us kids different names just to tease us. There was the Snodgrass family Sylvester, Suzette, Sylvia, and I forgot the fourth name. Needless to say any time I run into a person with the last name of Snodgrass I laugh to myself. I think that it was Amanda that Mom would call Penelope or maybe it was all of us girls. Now I call Breanna Penelope she doesn’t like it and I get the look. But I was walking Breanna home and I decided that I really like that name. I thought that would be a good name for the puppy. I told Jamie this and he laugh and said we could call her Penny. I know Jamie even if I do call her Penelope He will call her Penny. Nothing like getting a dog confused. Also with her liver and white coloring Penny might be more of a fit. So Penny it is.

SHORT STORY

I am going to call her Penny.

I will be going up on the 17th of this month to get her.

The rest of this weekend I have been working on bags for the lamellar, some yard work done and I got to see a friend from high school that is visiting Brenda. And I still have one day left of the weekend.

dyeing, dogs, and cats oh my

Last weekend was mad dogs at our house. Ruth and I did 30 different colors out on one dye pot of madder. That was a lot of fun. We also did some indigo dyeing that came out really neat. We took some screws and wrapped them in the fabric with some thread this gave a star burst effect. I also played with some folding the fabric to get a pattern.
Jamie did a forge building class.

On Saturday Ruth and I went to Inwood IA to look at some papyon puppies. I was not impressed with the breeder and the dogs where smaller than what I wanted. Today I went to look at some Brittany Spaniels I fell in love with a girl, I paid for her but will not be able to pick her up till after WW (SCA event that is next Thursday through Sunday in Wisconsin). I don’t have a name for her yet and I should have take some pictures with my camera phone. (I just thought of that as I was typing) I will be getting the kittens this week. I have two cats that I will be getting from one of Ruth’s co-workers. They are outdoor cats to help with the mouse population. I just have to convince the cats to go after only the mice and not the ground squirrels and birds. I think this is the month for pets.

 all that i am doing

Right now all it seems like I am doing it working outside. I have been planting, mowing, weeding, and all the other ings that you can do outside. I have a about one more flat of plants that I started that I need to get into the ground. I bought a bunch of daylilies that I need to get planted. Unfortunaly where I want to put the daylilies there are mums and peonies there. I just got the area weeded that I want to put the mums in and will be moving them tomorrow. And planting the daylilies tomorrow.

This year I bought two waterlilys for the pond I had one from last year come up again this year. I have been trying to feed the bullheads but they are not eating the food. Jamie thinks that they are just not hungry we see them swimming around but they are not interested in the food.

In the big garden I have watermelon, cantaloupe, peppers and cucumbers going. I have also planted some dill, sage and lavender in that garden. And put the last of my coreopsis and marigolds in there also.

I have been working on a blanket for one of my coworkers who had a baby. It is all these knitted fish right now I have about 60 done I think that I will need at the very least 100 done and make a bigger border. Or 140 to just have the fish. A friend and I traded unfinished objects (ufo) I took her counted cross stitch angel and she took a set of sleeves for one of my sweaters. The cross stitch has made it so that the fish are not so bad. They are just the fish not the #@$^%#$@ fish.

 what a month

This last month has been very busy I am sorry about not writing more.
The last weekend in April was my Grandmothers 85th birthday. I went to Wisconsin it was a lot of fun to see my aunts and uncles cousins and family.

The next weekend we sheared the boys. I got 3 ½ done. The shears broke about half way through Snowman. And lets just say Gordon was NOT happy with us. It has taken about a week for him got be ok.

Last weekend was quest by Rapid City. I had a blast it is the first event of our season. I have not seen some of my friends since seage in September. And there are a few that I only see at this event.

Today Breanna and I went to the zoo. Who are you asking is Breanna she is the little girl that lives next door. She is 11 and has adopted Jamie and me. She comes over about every day that we are here either after work or on Saturday & Sunday. She helped shear the boys and has helped me move there temp enclosure around. She also just likes to sit and talk. Today we went to the zoo then to Seratoma park and the outdoor campus, then we went to chucky cheese, and then the mall. It was a very busy day.
